Another great result for our Buckeroos! BW u9’s 257/4 beat Kilmington 230/7.
The Buckeroos batted first, and despite losing 4 wickets in the first 7 overs, managed to pull it around with some spirited batting. We totalled 257 with important contributions from Fergus, Harry, Charlie and Felix. It should be noted that Fraser took one of those wickets whilst on as a substitute FIELDER!!
When we fielded very tight bowling kept Kilmington always behind the clock. They never really recovered from Fraser’s double wicket maiden in the 2nd over ( yup Fraser, that’s 3 for the match!). Ed chimed in with 2 from his wicked under arm lobs, a deserved wicket for Fergus’ much improved bowling this season, and 2 for Felix at the death.
Kilmington only had 6, so apart from providing a substitute fielder when they fielded, we also provided them with a player for the whole game. Step forward Jago to take a bow – he stuck his hand up when I asked (though obviously not wanting too) and scored a very good boundary against us. Thank you Jago.
Well done to all who played – onwards and upwards!
Best, Robin
