The BWCC AGM will take place on Monday 25th March 2019 at 19:00 in the pavilion (weather dependant). All are welcome, please come along and support the comittee.
On Saturday 2nd March approximately 50 guests, members and Vice Presidents celebrated the 2018 cricket season, various awards were presented.
Senior Awards:
- Batting Cup: B Ward
- Bowling Cup: G Jones
- All Rounder: H Chinnock
- Young Player: S Chinnock
- Players Player: D Taylor
- Golden Box: S Crocker
- Champagne Moment: R Dyke
Ladies Awards:
- Player of the Season: K Lavis
- Players Player: S Feltham

A quick update on our forthcoming season…
We now have another qualified coach joining us this season. His name is Sean Fitzgerald and he is a bit of a superstar having been Coach of the Year for the South West of England in 2012. Formerly, he was a Dorset Minor Counties Wicket Keeper/Batter and is the last person to have represented Dorset at Senior Level Football and Cricket!
Sean is now a full time cricket coach and amongst other things is the Community Coach with the Dorset Cricket Board for North and West Dorset. We are rather fortunate to have grabbed his services.
As he can only help us on Friday evenings, that decides our weekly training evening. This year’s registration is on Friday 12th April followed by practice evenings every Friday evening 6-7:30. We recognize this may not suit everyone, but given the quality that Sean brings it is the right thing to do and we really hope everyone will manage to accomodate this. If there is anything we can do to help, please do let Simon Dodd know.
Sean and Simon are now working on training plans for all the players. If anyone hasn’t yet replied re being part of the Buckeroos this season, please do so ASAP.
The rearranged date for this season’s Annual Dinner and Awards will be held on Saturday 2nd March in the Buckhorn Weston Village Hall.
Doors will open at 7pm, three course meal provided, tickets are £20 a head. Please speak to Cort to obtain your tickets!
Menu: Starter Pate, Main Course either Spanish Chicken or Lasagne, followed by Cheese and Biscuits

Last night, Friday 14th September 2018, the pavilion was packed with Buckeroos and parents as the annual awards ceremony took place.
The winners were:
- Fergus Dodd – Batting
- Leo Cooke – Bowling
- Charlie Collins – All Rounder
- Felix Mounde – Players Player
- Felix Mounde & Leo Cooke – Catch Of The Season
- Euan Sadler – “Golden Box”
But in fact everyone as the U11 League Trophy was held up by all members of the squad.
