What a strange and difficult period this has been, and will no doubt continue to be so for some time yet.
However, it is wonderful that recreational cricket can resume and we will be trying to pack as much cricket as possible into the remainder of the season. Men’s cricket will resume shortly and pick up on the fixtures that had already been arranged. The ladies should have been playing in their inaugural North Dorset evening league (promoted and organised by BW) but that has fallen to lockdown. Instead they will be arranging friendlies which will be played over the coming weeks. The Buckeroos too have lost their league season but local clubs are already in contact to arrange friendlies for them.
Fixtures will be posted on the website soon and will be added to as the season progresses. There is still uncertainty about – one club has cancelled its remaining games and others may follow, which will lead to odd gaps and late additions/changes. So keep an eye!
It does have to be stressed though that we are absolutely not returning to cricket as normal, for this season at least. The rules for ‘adapted cricket’ have still yet to be published, and social distancing and the need for constant cleaning/sanitisation procedures will have to be in place. But with good humour and common sense we can make it work.
We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks, and thank you for your continued support,
Robin
We are transferred this website to a new Host on 16th Aug 2019 and every seems to be working brilliantly. If you are reading this post, then you are looking at the new server.
Contact by email should also be much faster and more importantly, more reliable. As always, if you don’t get a reply within a day or two, please contact us by phone or personal email in the Fixture Card.

A quick update on our forthcoming season…

We now have another qualified coach joining us this season. His name is Sean Fitzgerald and he is a bit of a superstar having been Coach of the Year for the South West of England in 2012. Formerly, he was a Dorset Minor Counties Wicket Keeper/Batter and is the last person to have represented Dorset at Senior Level Football and Cricket!
Sean is now a full time cricket coach and amongst other things is the Community Coach with the Dorset Cricket Board for North and West Dorset. We are rather fortunate to have grabbed his services.
As he can only help us on Friday evenings, that decides our weekly training evening. This year’s registration is on Friday 12th April followed by practice evenings every Friday evening 6-7:30. We recognize this may not suit everyone, but given the quality that Sean brings it is the right thing to do and we really hope everyone will manage to accomodate this. If there is anything we can do to help, please do let Simon Dodd know.
Sean and Simon are now working on training plans for all the players. If anyone hasn’t yet replied re being part of the Buckeroos this season, please do so ASAP.
Just a get together to catch up and discuss all things Christmas & Cricket. Bring partners and we promise no extortion – just an informal social evening.
SEE YOU THERE!
