Buckhorn’s players arrived suitably smart for the annual President’s Day Game against the Hampshire Maniacs and the team looked in good shape, with the return of the Sherbornians and other casualties to exam season. The Maniacs were unbeaten against Buckhorn, but the games have been starting to get much closer of late; so today was set to be an exciting contest. Play commenced after players on both sides enjoyed a ploughman’s lunch, served up courtesy of Suzanne Beetham and Karen Chinnock and desert provided by the Owens. It was a brilliant spread and was testament to the efforts put into producing it, which were much appreciated by all. Continue reading
Two warm up games against Marnhull and Stalbridge produced startling results in favour of the club. The club next played Puddletown and Thornford in the Three Counties League securing victories in both games. Continue reading

Stalbridge 74 all out (25.3 overs) Buckhorn Weston 79 for 1 (10.5 overs)
The game was set to be an improvement on last year’s fixture, as rain was not forecast. The ground looked in excellent condition, with both head and deputy curators putting in lots of work during the week. The wicket looked in better shape than at any point in April last season, and looked set to facilitate a higher-scoring match than the one that actually transpired. Continue reading

Buckhorn’s first game of 2011 was graced with two excellent displays: firstly from the weather; and secondly, from a surprisingly sharp Buckhorn side, who looked like they had a season of games behind them already. Continue reading
Youth Registration is compulsory each year and must be done by a parent or guardian in person.

Under 11’s, Under 13’s ___ Thursday 5th May
Under 9’s ___ Friday 6th May
… when there will be training as normal on these evenings. There will be an opportunity for parents to enjoy cheese and wine on these evenings while watching the children enjoy their cricket and providing an opportunity to ask questions and get up to date with our developments and plans.
We have updated our web site to run on the latest web technology “WordPress”. As far as possible it should have the same Look and Feel as the previous one although some items may be in different areas.
