Perfect day for a game of cricket and an even better day for our first Sunday victory.

BWCC hosted Stour Provost in a 35 over game in near perfect conditions. We played on the all weather pitch due to equipment issues and it stood up well providing even and consistent bounce.

Brandon Ward opened the bowling at a gentle pace and Stour Provost made a steady start.

Some tidy bowling followed from Dan Taylor (Flymo), Matt Jamieson (Seabass) and new BWCC player Dan Biddiscombe, each taking one wicket.

A change of bowling saw captain Simon Dodd (Daffy) and Paul White (Tubbs) come into the mix. Some very tidy blowing from Daffy and late in swing saw him get 3-9! Some first class flan from Tubbsy and some good keeping from Jonny Reach saw a (rare) sharp stumping as Richardson made the mistake of dancing to the flan!!!

Stour Provost 138-9

Brandon Ward and Dan Biddiscombe opened the batting with Brandon hitting a quick 50 before retiring to give the rest a chance to bat. Cort Taylor  was given lbw by umpire Tubbs which saw Seabass come to the crease. Between them they knocked off the runs with ease, Dan carrying his bat.

BWCC 141-1 win by 9 wickets

Look forward to seeing you all on Sunday!

We will have an Adult Indoor Nets session at Wincanton Sports Centre this Sunday 17th April 10:00-12:00.  This should be the last indoor session, we hope to be outside for the 24th April!

A fantastic turn out at the Groundhog day saw a dozen helping hands, ranging from the very young to the not so young!  Nets were erected, fencing repaired, artificial wicket cleaned and covers that had been blown on top of each other earlier in the week straightened out.

Thank you to everyone that attended for their sterling efforts!

Indoor winter nets has now been running for two weeks, with those attending getting a good work out with some really enthusiastic bowling, batting and some fielding practice.  It has also been great to see a couple of new faces, and we look forward to seeing their efforts during the new season.  Net’s will run on the dates below between 10:00-12:00.

Sunday 3rd April
