A low scoring thriller went the way of Buckhorn u13’s tonight.
Our four strike bowlers – Tommy Stewart, John Cooper, Alistair Johnson and Sam Godfrey all did a great job and keep the runs down and the pressure on, aided to by two superb run outs from Tommy and John, the second being a 40 yard flat throw that broke the stumps. Stalbridge Reds held back to 50 for 5 from 16 overs.
Unfortunately the batting did not work as well and Buckhorn found themselves 4 for 3 after only 3 overs. But the side held together and some powerful hitting (with a healthy sprinkle of luck) from Rory Dodd (23 n.o.) ably assisted by James Patterson, Grady Crittal, Sam Godfrey and Harry kept things slowly moving along. It was left to Ed Munday to hit the winning run and prompt the pitch invasion.
Bring on Stalbridge Blues!
